Training Officer

About the role

The Training Officer is responsible for developing the knowledge and skills of the workforce across supply chain management (SCM) operations. The role ensures employees are equipped to meet current and future objectives while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and conduct training programmes for SCM staff, including MHE operator, defensive driving, first aid and fire awareness.
• Deliver new‑starter and refresher MHE training, and support other business units as required.
• Attend monthly site safety meetings and set goals for MHE training in collaboration with line managers.
• Investigate MHE incidents, evaluate procedures and supervise accident investigations.
• Assess training needs, evaluate competency levels and maintain in‑house training facilities and equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a trainer or facilitator, preferably with 4‑5 years in a logistics/warehousing environment.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on MHE operation experience; MHE instructor certification is preferred.
• Degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operation and training.
• Proficiency in MS Office and presentation software.
• Ability to design, deliver and evaluate full training cycles.
