Urdu QA Lead – Remote

About the role

This remote, hourly contract position is for an Urdu Quality Assurance Lead who will oversee the quality, consistency, and trainer performance of Urdu AI training projects. You will ensure that AI‑generated Urdu content meets strict linguistic and cultural standards, directly contributing to the improvement of leading AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated Urdu content and trainer/QA work against detailed project rubrics.
• Provide precise written feedback in English and Urdu, highlighting issues such as grammar, tone, cultural appropriateness, formatting, and hallucinated claims.
• Identify recurring quality problems and communicate updates to trainers and QA teams.
• Support onboarding of new contributors, maintain documentation, and reactivate inconsistent workers.
• Collaborate with remote teams using communication tools (e.g., Discord, Google Workspace).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urdu, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in Urdu with strong reading and writing skills.
• Strong command of English for following guidelines and providing feedback.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Urdu writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, or related workflows.
• Deep knowledge of Urdu grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register, Nastaliq script conventions, and right‑to‑left formatting.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, or QAs is strongly preferred.
