Visiting Faculty in English

About the role

The School of Arts and Sciences at American International University (AIU), a private institution in Kuwait founded in 2019, is looking for a Visiting Faculty member in English. The position is based in Jahra and sits within Academic Affairs. Candidates should show strong teaching and communication skills, university-level teaching experience and the ability to use effective, contemporary teaching methods.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver innovative undergraduate courses in English and related subjects.
• Contribute to curriculum development by designing and revising syllabi for new and existing courses.
• Develop and implement interactive, student-oriented and inclusive pedagogical strategies.
• Integrate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted tools and interactive learning platforms, into teaching and curriculum design.
• Supervise senior projects and give academic guidance to students.
• Maintain rigorous assessment standards in line with best practice and institutional guidelines.

Required profile

• PhD in English, English Literature, American Literature or a closely related field.
• Background in English, literature, communication or public speaking.
• Familiarity with the Kuwait educational context.
• 3 years of university teaching experience preferred.
