Wells Engineer

About the role

The Well Engineer will support Shell ETSA North Kuwait Heavy Oil and West Kuwait Wells Engineering team in front‑end well design and operations across the well lifecycle, including construction, intervention and abandonment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop well engineering solutions and translate designs into reality by managing contractor contributions and providing site support.
• Lead value‑creation events, apply new technologies and use digital tools to improve design efficiency.
• Create Well Acceptance Criteria and support technical and business initiatives to enhance well design and execution.
• Participate in investigations, audits and vendor engagements with a quality‑assurance approach.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Commitment to HSE culture and ability to deliver high‑quality projects.
• Willingness to integrate technical and business activities on multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Ability to work in a diverse, multi‑cultural environment and manage own development.

Required skills

• Experience with well design tools such as WELLCAT, WELLPLAN, COMPASS (preferred).
• IWCF certification (or ability to acquire).
• Strong stakeholder integration and influencing skills.
