Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports daily restaurant operations, ensuring a high‑quality guest experience that aligns with brand standards. This role works closely with the restaurant manager to maintain service excellence, safety, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day restaurant operations during service periods.
• Deliver and maintain the highest level of guest experience.
• Lead by example, fostering transparent and accessible management.
• Identify training needs, provide relevant information, and support team development.
• Implement and monitor cost‑control measures to minimize waste and optimise revenue.
• Manage inventory, stock rotation, and ensure accurate accounting of furniture, equipment, and utensils.
• Prepare regular operational reports and assist with restaurant reporting.
• Handle guest relations, complaints, and crisis situations professionally.
• Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and local government regulations.
• Coordinate with back‑of‑house and other operational areas to resolve issues.
• Maintain SOP adherence, manage rosters, and control labour costs.
• Support third‑party activities across all operational departments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in restaurant or food‑and‑beverage operations.
• Strong leadership and team‑coaching abilities.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, especially for guest complaints and operational challenges.
• Knowledge of safety, hygiene, and local regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage inventory, cost controls, and reporting.
