Full/Associate/Assistant Professor – Civil Engineering

About the role

The American International University invites applications for a full‑time faculty position in Civil Engineering at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, develop curricula, mentor students, maintain an active research profile, and contribute to institutional service in a collaborative, inclusive, and multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate Civil Engineering courses with a strong emphasis on practical, industry‑based learning.
• Integrate real‑world engineering practices, construction projects, case studies, standards, and codes into instruction.
• Support teaching in structures, construction, geotechnical engineering, transportation, water resources, and environmental engineering.
• Develop and update curricula to reflect emerging technologies and methodologies.
• Mentor and advise students on academic and research matters.
• Maintain strong industry connections and stay current with new technologies and civil engineering trends.
• Participate in research activities and contribute to scholarly publications.
• Engage in departmental and university service activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of university‑level teaching experience with demonstrated excellence in teaching and student engagement.
• Strong knowledge of current civil engineering practices, standards, and technologies.
• Ability to link classroom instruction with real‑world engineering applications.
