About the role

The Group, Conference and Events (GCE) Sales Manager leads the GCE sales office and on‑property reservations team, turning enquiries into confirmed bookings. You will build strong relationships with guests, drive revenue, and ensure the hotel remains competitive in the local market.

Key responsibilities

  • Maximise all Group, Conference and Event revenue opportunities.
  • Review business plans, identify gaps and implement proactive actions to meet capacity and revenue targets.
  • Contribute to the hotel’s selling strategy and ensure departmental alignment.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and develop approaches to keep the hotel ahead.
  • Conduct weekly spot checks on bookings, achieving at least 90% compliance in audits.
  • Develop the GCE sales team, fostering a culture of high‑quality service, selling techniques, and contract management.
  • Organise hotel promotional activities to boost visibility and bookings.

Required profile

  • Previous managerial or supervisory experience in reservations and/or conference and events sales within the hotel or leisure sector.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills to drive team performance.
  • Analytical ability to interpret business indicators and market trends.
  • Excellent selling capability with a passion for coaching sales techniques.
  • Organisational and planning expertise, accountability, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work situations.
