Lead Construction Engineer – Civil/Structural (Marine)

About the role

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is seeking a Lead Construction Engineer – Civil/Structural (Marine) to oversee the construction of an Oil Pier New Arm Facility for KNPC in Kuwait. The role will start in KBR’s Kuwait office during the engineering phase and move to the KNPC site office for the construction stage.

Key responsibilities

• Review and monitor construction activities performed by the EPC Contractor on site.
• Report and resolve construction issues with the client and EPC Contractor.
• Ensure quality standards and timely progress through coordination with the EPC Contractor.
• Review EPC deliverables from a construction‑methodology perspective.
• Participate in client‑requested meetings and workshops.
• Provide regular reports to KNPC and KBR Project Management and coordinate with teams in Kuwait and Australia.
• Support KBR Lead Planning/Scheduling with reports, timesheets, and activity logs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Marine, Ocean, Naval, or Offshore Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of post‑graduation industrial experience.
• At least 8 years in refinery or petrochemical environments.
• Minimum 3 years leading engineering or project‑management consultancy work.
• Hands‑on marine construction experience (jetty, pier, berth, approach trestle, loading arm, mooring dolphins, etc.).
• Proven experience reviewing construction‑related deliverables.
