Medical Science Liaison Oncology Gulf

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Oncology Gulf will serve as AbbVie’s medical and scientific voice for assigned oncology products across the Gulf region. The role provides expert medical and scientific advice to key customers, supports the affiliate’s medical affairs strategy, and ensures integration of medical input into commercial plans.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the affiliate’s medical/scientific expertise for assigned oncology products and therapeutic areas.
• Provide scientific exchange and develop professional relationships with External Experts (EEs) and academic centers.
• Contribute medical/scientific input to marketing strategies, commercial initiatives, and medical department activities under the Affiliate Medical Director.
• Develop and maintain in‑depth knowledge of assigned products through internal training, congress participation and self‑study of regional literature.
• Respond to requests for scientific/technical information and assist in creating accurate medical dossiers (pricing, HEOR, medical information packs, clinical expert reviews).
• Organize and participate in advisory boards, round‑table meetings, and scientific congresses.
• Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals.
• Screen relevant literature and scientific meetings, summarising key messages for internal use.

Required profile

• Strong medical/scientific expertise in oncology and related therapeutic areas.
• Ability to build and maintain credible relationships with External Experts and academic institutions.
• Experience delivering scientific presentations and medical education to healthcare professionals.
• Proactive self‑learning to stay current with national and regional oncology literature and trends.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional affiliate teams under the direction of the Affiliate Medical Director.
