Project Engineer I – PMC Contract for Oil & Gas

About the role

The Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group of KBR is seeking a Project Engineer I on a 5‑year PMC contract to support Kuwait Oil Company in delivering new and upgraded oil‑field facilities. The role will coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities to ensure projects are executed safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Manage support services for supervising and directing engineering, procurement and construction contractors appointed by the client.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities for FEED studies, ITB preparation, and LSTK tender packages.
• Act as the primary technical interface with the client, ensuring expectations are met and designs conform to the approved Basis of Design and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the preparation and review of technical documents such as P&IDs, line lists, equipment datasheets, instrumentation indexes and cable routing.
• Facilitate client and PMC participation in technical reviews including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, 3‑D model and constructability reviews.
• Support field engineering, monitor test packages, welding maps, spool tracking and field progress.
• Coordinate commissioning activities, punch walks, loop checks, PSSR reviews and compile Mechanical Completion and Ready‑for‑Start‑Up dossiers.
• Ensure proper compilation and hand‑over of as‑built documentation, redlines, MTOs and commissioning binders.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing engineering, procurement and construction contractors in oil‑and‑gas projects.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams through FEED, bidding and EPC phases.
• Strong understanding of client‑driven technical coordination and regulatory compliance.
• Experience supporting field engineering, commissioning and mechanical completion processes.
