Roustabout – Offshore Drilling Support

About the role

The roustabout carries out general activities related to lifting, rigging, housekeeping, chipping, painting and equipment repair to ensure a safe and efficient drilling operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general duties to meet the operating plan, safety standards, rig appearance and housekeeping requirements.
• Assist other rig departments such as the drilling crew, welders and maintenance team on the rig floor.
• Hook loads for crane and forklift operators, act as a banksman and support loading and off‑loading of drilling materials.
• Prepare the rig for moves as directed by the Driller and support drilling‑mud preparation, cleaning of mud pits and handling of tubulars.
• Maintain lifting equipment, ensure proper storage, inspection and installation of thread protectors on drill pipes.
• Keep the work area clean, dispose of debris according to hazardous material policies and prepare surfaces for painting.

Required profile

• High School or Technical Degree with preferably at least one year of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Age between 20 and 27 years.
• Elementary English and basic mathematical skills.
• Physical ability to climb frequently, lift and push heavy loads and work in extreme weather conditions, day or night shifts.
• Certifications as required by the ADES Training Matrix.

Required skills

• Rigging and slinging practices for crane and forklift operations.
• Use of banksman signaling and hands‑free tools during lifting activities.
