RPA Maintenance Aircraft Mechanic I – Deployment Pool

About the role

The Deployment Pool Aircraft Mechanic provides essential maintenance, inspection, and repair services for Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) systems and associated equipment. The role supports deployments to various CONUS and OCONUS locations, requiring flexibility and readiness to work on diverse schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily launch and recovery duties to meet operational requirements.
• Inspect, service, repair, and overhaul aircraft structures, landing gear, power plants, fuel systems, and functional components using hand and power tools.
• Diagnose and correct power‑plant malfunctions, including cracked components and oil leaks, using test equipment.
• Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble engines and major components, ensuring airworthiness.
• Conduct engine flushing, parts lubrication, and required maintenance checks.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory and support aircraft utilization schedules.
• Recommend revisions to maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and quality.

Required profile

• Ability to interpret Air Force technical orders, manufacturers’ manuals, and related documentation.
• Flexibility to support deployments and variable work schedules.
• Basic technical knowledge applied to solve complex maintenance problems.
• USAF equivalent position is Aircraft Mechanic Apprentice.
