Section Head – Sanitary & Tiles

About the role

The Section Head – Sanitary & Tiles is responsible for the overall performance of the sanitary and tiles department, driving sales, profitability and customer satisfaction. This leader creates a supportive environment, mentors staff and ensures operational excellence in line with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve cash, credit, warranty and accessory targets.
• Implement promotional activities and analyse sales data to maximise results.
• Provide exceptional customer service, handle complaints and monitor CSI scores.
• Plan work schedules, manage staffing levels, breaks, leaves and vacations.
• Ensure merchandise is correctly priced, displayed and stocked according to planograms.
• Maintain security, safety and housekeeping standards within the section.
• Report operational performance to the Store Manager and conduct performance reviews.
• Coach, mentor and train staff on policies, procedures and safety protocols.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading retail sales teams and meeting targets.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with ability to resolve issues.
• Operational management skills, including scheduling, inventory control and merchandising.
• Ability to coach, mentor and develop staff.
• Awareness of safety and emergency procedures.
