Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will support core accounting and reporting functions, covering receivables, payables, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory, cash, and banking. You will work closely with finance managers and auditors to ensure accurate financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly Accounts Receivable aging reports and distribute customer statements.
• Generate provision and management reports to aid financial analysis.
• Calculate and process commission payments for sales representatives and brokers.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of customer and general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Address customer queries, coordinate with internal teams, and review motor insurance claim files for compliance.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in line with accounting standards.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and schedules, ensuring IFRS 17 compliance.
• Provide documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors.
• Monitor internal controls, company policies, and relevant financial regulations.
• Maintain accounting records in insurance accounting systems, ensuring data integrity.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Commerce with solid accounting knowledge.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accountant or Senior Accountant, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving and presentation abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
