Senior EOR/IOR Operations Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior EOR/IOR Operations Specialist to lead the screening, design and implementation of enhanced and improved oil recovery concepts for mature fields. The role sits within Baker Hughes’ Integrated Well Services team and works closely with customers, product experts and technical authorities to deliver value‑adding recovery solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the selection of fit‑for‑purpose recovery improvement concepts, including waterflood optimization, gas injection, chemical EOR, thermal methods, conformance control and hybrid approaches.
• Assess reservoir suitability, injectant availability, facilities requirements, well deliverability, surveillance design, operational readiness and commercial value as an integrated system.
• Apply hands‑on experience from EOR/IOR projects through design maturation, start‑up, surveillance and performance monitoring, capturing lessons learned.
• Quantify incremental recovery, production impact, uncertainty ranges, implementation risks and value drivers to support screening, ranking and investment decisions.
• Translate opportunities into technical and commercial propositions, define execution pathways, partnership needs and risk mitigation plans.
• Guide junior specialists, challenge recovery assumptions and ensure inputs are technically robust and decision‑ready.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in reservoir or production engineering, with a strong background in EOR/IOR design, screening, piloting, implementation or field optimisation.
• Deep understanding of recovery mechanisms, injection systems, facilities interfaces, surveillance strategies and commercial value drivers.
• Proven ability to defend recovery concepts and investment cases to senior technical, commercial and leadership stakeholders.
