Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer (Water Infrastructure)

About the role

Nicholas O'Dwyer Ltd. is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to lead the supervision, testing and commissioning of major water infrastructure projects in Kuwait. The role focuses on delivering reliable automation, monitoring and control solutions for water distribution complexes and transmission networks, ensuring compliance with international standards and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems on site.
• Review and approve contractor sub‑missions for SCADA, PLCs and instrumentation layouts.
• Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and oversee commissioning activities.
• Monitor contractor performance, identify risks and manage deviations from design.
• Provide input on construction methodologies, system integration and troubleshooting of technical issues.
• Maintain inspection records, reports and documentation, and contribute to monthly progress reports.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical and process engineers.
• Support knowledge transfer, training initiatives and any additional responsibilities as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering within infrastructure or water projects.
• Proven track record in construction supervision and commissioning of large‑scale systems.
• Strong communication, coordination and project management abilities.
• Familiarity with international standards and best practices.
