Basic EMT – Emergency Medical Technician (Kuwait)

About the role

The position is based in Kuwait and supports the WEXMAC operation of V2X. The Basic EMT provides pre‑hospital emergency medical care, basic life support, and safe patient transport to medical facilities. The role also includes fire‑department duties and may involve staffing the Fire Alarm Communications Center.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire, medical and related emergency calls and deliver Basic Life Support in line with EMS protocols.
• Provide immediate care to critically ill or injured patients and transport them to the designated ambulance or medical facility.
• Assist Paramedics in assessing injuries or illnesses and prioritising treatment.
• Maintain fire and ambulance vehicles, equipment and CMMS records in a serviceable condition.
• Participate in continuing medical education and training, both as an instructor and a student.
• Communicate effectively via radio, telephone and written reports, and follow all applicable SOPs.

Required profile

• High school diploma (associate degree preferred) and U.S. citizenship.
• Eligibility for a Common Access Card (CAC) and ability to obtain a host‑nation driver’s licence.
• Minimum two years experience on an emergency response ambulance and in an emergency health‑care setting.
• Current certifications in EMT (NREMT or equivalent), CPR/BLS/AED and fire‑fighter qualifications.
• Good standing with certifying organisations and ability to maintain certifications throughout employment.

Required skills

• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification.
• CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
• Firefighter I and II certifications, including Hazardous Materials Operations.
• Airport Firefighter and Driver/Operator qualifications for fire apparatus.
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
