C-17 Support Equipment Technician

About the role

The C-17 Support Equipment Technician will coordinate maintenance, calibration and repair of Kuwait Air Force support equipment used for C-17 field services. The position is based at Al‑Mubarak Air Base in Kuwait City and requires relocation to Kuwait.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, research, develop and implement repair solutions that meet customer, regulatory and Boeing requirements.
• Define procedures, special tooling, work packages and material needs for inspections, modifications and repairs.
• Assist engineering staff with improvement projects and oversee modification, maintenance and proof‑load testing of enterprise products.
• Maintain equipment by removing, replacing, repairing or upgrading components and conduct functional tests using appropriate test equipment.
• Document all maintenance and inspection actions and manage tool‑room processes, including TCMAX or similar tool‑control programs.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience maintaining aircraft support equipment.
• Minimum 3 years experience with Ground Support Equipment for US Air Force or Boeing aircraft.
• High school diploma or GED with related experience; equivalent education accepted.
• Ability to obtain required Kuwait labor and immigration clearances.

Required skills

• Troubleshooting and isolation of faulty components.
• Complex functional testing of ground support equipment.
• Knowledge of USAF Technical Orders and related forms (e.g., AFI 21‑101, 00‑20‑1).
• Operation of forklift, crane and other support vehicles.
• Proficiency with database entry software and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with TCMAX or other tool‑control programs, Hazmat handling, PMEL and weight‑check procedures.
