Core Application Support Specialist – IST Switch & Card Management

About the role

We are seeking a Core Application Support Specialist to maintain and operate the IST Switch and associated card management systems for a leading Islamic bank. The role ensures high availability, reliable transaction processing, and operational excellence across payment channels.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level application support and monitor system health.
• Analyze and resolve production incidents and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Support ATM, POS, e‑commerce, issuer and acquirer transaction processing.
• Assist with deployments, upgrades and configuration changes.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks and coordinate with business, vendors and technical teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in banking and payment systems, preferably in mission‑critical production environments.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes.

Required skills

• FIS IST Switch and card management systems.
• Card payment processing and ISO 8583 messaging.
• Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Shell scripting.
• SQL and database querying (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2).
• Application monitoring and log analysis.
• Production support and troubleshooting.
