About the role
The DREEM Deputy Project Director will support the DREEM Project Director in leading Phase II (2026‑2031) of WUSC’s initiative to improve work and education outcomes for refugee‑displaced and host‑community youth across Africa. The role starts on 15 June 2026 and is based in one of the preferred locations (Nairobi, Abidjan, Accra, Kigali, Addis Ababa or Lagos).
Key responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing the implementation of Phase II objectives, including reaching one million youth with dignified work opportunities and 35 000 with education access.
- Manage the RLO Opportunity Fund and ensure financial resources reach Refugee‑Led Organizations.
- Strengthen the capacity of RLOs to deliver technical assistance to partners.
- Embed RLOs within functional areas of the programme and act as a network orchestrator.
- Coordinate with partners, donors and internal teams to scale interventions.
Required profile
- Fluency in English and French.
- Proven experience in project management within international development or youth programmes.
- Experience working with refugee‑displaced populations and Refugee‑Led Organizations.
- Willingness to be based in one of the specified African cities.
- Ability to report to and support the DREEM Project Director.
