Director of Faculty Affairs

About the role

The Director of the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) leads AIU’s central hub for faculty success, academic engagement and career development. Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the role creates an environment where faculty can thrive throughout their academic careers and supports the university’s accreditation and strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement policies, programmes and strategic direction for the Office of Faculty Affairs.
• Coordinate faculty‑related academic matters across all schools, the Foundation Programme and future graduate programmes.
• Collaborate with Human Resources, Deans, Department Chairs and other institutional units to ensure consistent faculty support while maintaining clear distinction from HR employment functions.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen shared governance, leadership development, and institutional effectiveness.
• Support AIU’s WSCUC accreditation efforts and long‑term academic distinction.

Required profile

• Advanced academic degree (e.g., PhD, EdD) with extensive experience in higher‑education administration.
• Proven leadership in faculty development, academic governance and accreditation processes.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with diverse university stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and strategic planning skills.
