EMT Basic - Fire and Medical Emergency Response

About the role

V2X is hiring an EMT Basic for a position based in Kuwait, supporting WEXMAC. The role prepares for and responds to fire and medical emergency calls and provides general support within the Fire Department. Candidates must reside in Kuwait and be authorized to work there.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain readiness for emergency call response and respond to fire, medical and related emergency calls when dispatched
• Educate staff and the public on fire safety and prevention
• Assess the situation, obtain a basic medical history and perform a physical examination of the patient, then provide emergency care at the scene and during transport to the hospital
• Use medical equipment to assess injuries or illness and communicate with the paramedic and Medical Officer about the patient's condition and arrival time
• Perform a variety of tasks and adapt to changing program or company needs

Required profile

• Nationally registered EMT-Basic, with CPR/BLS and First Aid certifications
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in an emergency health care setting and 2 years on an emergency response ambulance
• Extensive firefighting and emergency service experience
• Bachelor's degree or above preferred; two years of related experience may substitute for one year of education if a degree is required
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking of English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work shifts including days, swings and midnight shifts, and to lift at least 100 lbs

• Computer skills and experience with copiers and scanners
• Ability to learn new equipment added to the EMS inventory
• Physical ability to operate vehicles, stretchers, litters and medical equipment, and to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 30 pounds frequently
