Full/Associate/Assistant Professor of Interior Design – Kuwait

About the role

The School of Architecture and Design at the American International University seeks a full‑time faculty member in Interior Design for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The position is open at the rank of Full Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The successful applicant will join a multicultural campus in Kuwait and contribute to undergraduate education, research, and service.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver innovative undergraduate studio and lecture courses covering residential, commercial, and furniture design.
• Integrate contemporary tools such as CAD, BIM (Revit), 3D modelling, and digital fabrication into the curriculum.
• Guide senior capstone projects, portfolio development and maintain rigorous studio critique standards.
• Maintain an active research or professional practice agenda, publish scholarly work and present at conferences.
• Participate in departmental, school and university committees, accreditation activities and student mentorship.

Required profile

• PhD in Interior Design from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of university‑level teaching experience with a record of studio‑based instruction.
• Strong professional or research portfolio in interior design.
• Evidence of scholarly publications, conference presentations or professional practice.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience using Revit (BIM).
• Competence in SketchUp, 3ds Max.
• Ability to work with Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
• Familiarity with rendering engines such as V‑Ray or Lumion.
