Generator and HVAC Technician – Kuwait

About the role

The Generator and HVAC Technician will support U.S. Army field operations in Kuwait, providing on‑site maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of military‑grade generators and HVAC systems. You will work both in a dedicated generator shop and in field environments, ensuring reliable power and climate control for mission‑critical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance and repair on 3 kW‑150 kW generators (50/60/400 Hz) including installation, removal and overhaul.
• Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC electrical systems, electronic control modules, switchgear and parallel generator configurations.
• Maintain, service and repair HVAC units, chillers and environmental control units mounted on trailers or vehicles.
• Operate load banks for generator testing and conduct UPS maintenance.
• Fabricate wire harnesses, solder terminals and perform copper‑tube brazing and refrigerant recharge.
• Work in both shop and field settings across Kuwait and neighboring countries as required.
• Provide training and technical assistance to site operations and maintenance personnel.
• Execute other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• High school diploma (or equivalent higher education with relevant experience).
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with diesel generators and HVAC systems.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Middle East region.

Required skills

• Extensive diesel generator maintenance and parallel‑system knowledge.
• Experience with switchgear, AC/DC circuitry and electronic control systems.
• Certified HVAC/R Universal Technician and EPA certification.
• Proficiency in brazing copper tubing, refrigerant evacuation and recharging.
• Load‑bank operation, UPS maintenance and wire‑harness fabrication.
