Generator Rebuild & HVAC Technician – Camp Arifjan, Kuwait

About the role

GDIT is seeking an experienced Generator Rebuild and HVAC Technician to support the EPP III Patriot Missile program at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. You will work on both military and commercial power generation equipment, providing on‑site technical assistance and training to Army personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Perform overhaul, maintenance and sustainment on 3 kW‑150 kW generators, including installation and removal from fixed and mobile locations.
• Troubleshoot and repair AC, DC, electronic control, and switch‑gear systems.
• Diagnose, service, and repair HVAC, chillers, and environmental control units mounted on trailers or vehicles.
• Maintain UPS systems and operate load banks and dynometers for testing.
• Fabricate wire harnesses, solder terminals, and perform copper‑tube brazing.
• Work in both generator shop and field environments, adhering to safety and medical requirements.
• Provide training and technical guidance to site operations and maintenance personnel.

Required profile

• High School diploma + 6 years experience, or BA/BS + 2 years, or AA/AS + 4 years.
• U.S. citizenship, valid passport (≥2 years), driver’s license and international driver’s permit.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance within 12 months.
• Pass all medical requirements for deployment to the CENTCOM area.

• Diesel engine rebuild and generator maintenance (3 kW‑150 kW).
• Generator parallel systems and switch‑gear knowledge.
• Copper‑tube brazing and refrigerant evacuation/recharge (EPA certified).
• HVAC/R system repair and certification.
• Load bank operation and dynometer testing.
• Wire‑harness fabrication and soldering.
• AC/DC system troubleshooting and electronic control diagnostics.
