Head of Finance

About the role

Tabby, the leading GCC shopping and payments platform, is launching its operations in Kuwait and seeks a Head of Finance to build the finance function from day one. Reporting to Group Finance, you will be responsible for the full financial stewardship of the Kuwait entity, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and a robust control environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Kuwait books: general ledger, chart of accounts, accounting manual and month‑end close, aligned with Group policy.
• Deliver the monthly close and reporting pack to Group Finance on schedule, including variance commentary and balance‑sheet substantiation.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and notes, handling Arabic‑language reconciliation and Kuwait Companies Law requirements.
• Ensure clean integration into group consolidation: intercompany reconciliation, transfer‑pricing support, related‑party disclosures and consistent application of Group accounting policies.
• Maintain a complete reconciliation framework covering bank and PSP settlements, receivables, merchant payables, collections, recoveries and suspense items.
• Manage Central Bank of Kuwait regulatory returns and prudential reporting, acting as the finance counterpart on queries and inspections.
• Support licensing and capital authorisation processes with financial projections and compliance documentation.

Required profile

• Senior finance leader with full accountability for an entity’s books, reporting and control environment.
• Proven experience in controllership, statutory reporting and regulatory compliance, preferably in fintech or payments.
• Deep knowledge of Kuwait Companies Law, Central Bank reporting requirements and licensing processes.
• Ability to design finance processes, chart of accounts and reporting packs from scratch and scale them.
