Head of Finance – Kuwait

About the role

Tabby, the GCC’s leading shopping and payments platform, is launching its operations in Kuwait and needs a senior finance leader to build the finance function from day one. The Head of Finance will own the Kuwait entity’s books, statutory reporting and control environment, ensuring a clean, scalable foundation for future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Kuwait general ledger, chart of accounts, accounting manual and month‑end close, aligned with Group policy.
• Run a disciplined close calendar, deliver the monthly reporting pack to Group Finance with variance commentary and balance‑sheet substantiation.
• Prepare Kuwait statutory financial statements, including Arabic‑language reconciliation and reserve transfers under the Kuwait Companies Law.
• Ensure clean integration of Kuwait data into Group consolidation – intercompany reconciliation, transfer‑pricing support and related‑party disclosures.
• Maintain a full reconciliation framework covering bank settlements, payment‑service provider settlements, receivables, merchant payables, collections, recoveries and suspense items.
• Lead regulatory and tax compliance, including preparation and timely submission of Central Bank of Kuwait returns and responding to regulatory queries.

Required profile

• Senior finance professional with extensive experience in controllership and statutory reporting.
• Proven ability to design and implement chart of accounts, close processes and reporting packs from scratch.
• Strong knowledge of Kuwait Companies Law and Central Bank of Kuwait regulatory requirements.
• Experience working in a fast‑growing fintech or e‑commerce environment is a plus.
