Head of IT – GCC Region

About the role

As Head of IT (GCC) you will lead the delivery of technology services across Cognita schools in the Gulf Cooperation Council, ensuring reliable, secure and high‑quality IT support for staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the trusted technology partner to local school leadership and collaborate with Group technology teams to implement strategy and standards.
• Lead the local IT Technician team, overseeing service delivery, technology operations, lifecycle planning and local projects.
• Manage budgets, supplier contracts, risk registers and performance metrics for IT services.
• Drive continuous improvement and technology change across all GCC schools, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals.
• Travel regularly to schools throughout the GCC to support and monitor technology implementation.

Required profile

• Customer‑focused IT leader with experience delivering high‑quality technology services across multiple sites in a complex, international environment.
• Strong people manager capable of developing and motivating distributed technical teams.
• Broad technical understanding of infrastructure, applications and digital workplace services.
• Commercial acumen to manage budgets, suppliers and vendor relationships effectively.
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience, with a proven track record of leading IT service delivery and operational improvement.
• Experience in the education sector and certifications such as ITIL or PMP are advantageous.
