Hydrocarbon Lawyer Specialist

About the role

Anton, a global integrated oil and gas value-added management services company headquartered in Dubai, is hiring a Hydrocarbon Lawyer Specialist in Kuwait for its On-sync Energy Management Services Company. The role provides legal and regulatory support for business partnerships, joint ventures and commercial agreements within the energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate partnership structures and business models for compliance with legal, regulatory, technical and commercial requirements.
• Draft, review and negotiate partnership agreements, contractual terms and related legal documentation.
• Support tendering and commercial processes, and monitor the implementation of contractual terms throughout the partnership lifecycle.
• Advise on contract amendments, renewals and terminations, and review and update contractual frameworks.
• Provide legal advice on regulatory frameworks and compliance obligations, and conduct legal and reputational due diligence on potential partners and third parties.
• Develop and maintain legal and regulatory reference materials, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, corporate policies and regulations, and identify and mitigate legal, commercial and regulatory risks.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD), Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent law degree from a recognised institution; additional qualifications in Energy Law, Contract Management or Commercial Law are preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of professional legal experience, including significant experience in the Oil & Gas or Energy industry.
• Proven experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex Oil & Gas contracts and commercial agreements.
• Strong experience with joint ventures, strategic partnerships, production sharing agreements or similar arrangements.
• Experience conducting legal and reputational due diligence on business partners and third parties.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of contract law, commercial law and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Understanding of national and international regulations affecting the Oil & Gas industry.
• Ability to integrate legal, regulatory and commercial considerations into contractual frameworks and business decisions.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, communication and analytical skills, and expertise in legal risk assessment, mitigation and compliance management.
