Job description

About the role

A well-established professional services firm in Kuwait is looking for an experienced Tax Lawyer to join its growing tax practice. The role advises corporate clients on complex domestic and international tax matters, with a particular focus on the OECD's Global Minimum Tax framework (Pillar Two). Candidates should combine legal and technical tax expertise with the ability to explain evolving regulations and international compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Advise clients on international tax matters, especially OECD Pillar Two and GloBE rules.
  • Analyse and interpret domestic tax legislation, international tax developments, treaties and regulatory guidance.
  • Support Pillar Two implementation, including applicability assessments, tax impact analysis, compliance obligations and reporting.
  • Provide advice on corporate taxation, tax structuring and cross-border transactions.
  • Conduct tax research and prepare legal opinions, technical memoranda and client-facing advice.
  • Monitor international tax policy and legislation across Kuwait and the wider GCC region.
  • Work with legal, audit and tax advisory colleagues on client engagements and build client relationships.

Required profile

  • Recognised law degree (LLB or equivalent).
  • 5 to 15 years of relevant experience in tax law or tax advisory.
  • Current or previous experience in a law firm, international or regional auditing firm or professional services tax practice.
  • Demonstrable experience with OECD Pillar Two, GloBE rules or global minimum taxation.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, written and spoken.
  • Desirable: knowledge of Kuwait and GCC tax frameworks, experience advising multinational groups, and exposure to corporate income tax, transfer pricing, tax treaties and cross-border tax planning.

Required skills

  • Legal research, drafting and client advisory.
  • Ability to interpret complex legislation and explain technical issues clearly.
  • Attention to detail, proactive on international tax developments, and able to manage multiple assignments in multidisciplinary teams.

Applications are confidential; interested candidates send a CV outlining their tax law experience, Pillar Two exposure, language capabilities and current location.
