Junior Risk & Safety Engineer

About the role

The Junior Risk & Safety Engineer will support the preparation, execution and review of environmental and safety assessment studies for client projects. The role involves close interaction with clients, consultants and internal HSE teams to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and validate HSE study reports, selecting appropriate methodologies such as HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, SIL, and PHSER.
• Develop man‑day estimates for proposals and tenders, and coordinate data requests for quoting.
• Attend client meetings, site visits and sessions to understand project scope and gather necessary information.
• Coordinate with BV Kuwait and other BV network offices, as well as external consultants, to ensure timely execution of studies.
• Maintain project schedules, address comments from clients/contractors, and ensure compliance with BV QHSSE rules.
• Continuously update technical knowledge by reviewing journals, standards and presentations related to HSE.

Required profile

• Graduate Engineer with ≥5 years experience, or Post‑Graduate Engineer with ≥3 years, or Ph.D. with ≥1 year in HSE.
• Proven experience in executing safety studies (HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, SIL, PHSER) and risk assessment or process safety software.
• Familiarity with environmental modeling software for environmental studies or health assessment tools for health‑related studies, depending on the focus area.
• Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills.
