Lead HSE Engineer – Sustainable Technology Solutions

About the role

Lead HSE Engineer for KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions supporting the KOC PMC project in Kuwait. The role ensures the project complies with KOC safety policies, local legislation and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and advise EPC contractors on their HSE Management Systems to ensure consistent compliance.
• Oversee development, implementation and maintenance of the project Risk Management Plan.
• Guide subcontractor selection processes in line with KOC expectations.
• Maintain statistical HSE data, produce reports and highlight trends for continuous improvement.
• Ensure adherence to Kuwait legislative requirements and communicate updates to all stakeholders.
• Review and recommend changes to EPC contractors’ Safety Management Systems.
• Develop and sustain professional relationships with KOC, regulatory bodies and EPC partners.
• Conduct regular site visits to promote HSE awareness and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years post‑graduation experience, including at least 8 years in oil & gas.
• At least 5 years in a Lead HSE Engineer role.
• Hands‑on experience with design, construction, commissioning and maintenance of oil/gas installations.
• Proven experience with HSE management systems, reporting and audit procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with local and international safety standards.
• Two or more recognised HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor, ICertOSH, ASSE Global Safety Management).
