Lead UXO/EOD Specialist (Senior Environmental Specialist)

About the role

Worley is seeking a Lead UXO/EOD Specialist to provide technical leadership and quality assurance for all unexploded ordnance (UXO) and land‑mine survey, detection, and clearance activities. The role ensures compliance with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) and company safety and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quality assurance monitoring, inspections, and surveillance audits of UXO and land‑mine clearance operations.
• Manage non‑conformance reporting, corrective actions, and verification processes.
• Apply sampling techniques and phased control systems to verify contractor readiness.
• Perform trend and root‑cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide technical oversight of contractor performance in UXO surveys, geophysical investigations, and clearance operations.
• Support development of UXO management strategies, contract specifications, and project documentation.
• Liaise with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective UXO risk management.

Required profile

• IMAS Level III+ certification or equivalent (e.g., military EOD qualification).
• Minimum 10 years experience in the UXO/EOD sector.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of UXO safety, quality, and health‑and‑safety management systems.
• Experience in oil and gas operating environments is highly desirable.
