Lead HSE Engineer

About the role

The Lead HSE Engineer will coordinate the implementation of KOC PMC safety policies, HSE Management System and project‑specific HSE plans for the Kuwait Oil Company project. The role ensures compliance with local legislation and KOC requirements while developing and maintaining project HSE performance data.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor EPC contractor HSE Management System, advise on compliance and risk reduction.
• Develop, implement and maintain the project HSE Management System and statistical reporting.
• Review and guide EPC contractors on safety management, risk management plans and subcontractor selection processes.
• Conduct regular site visits, safety talks, training sessions and audits to ensure a safe working environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 12 years post‑graduation experience.
• Minimum 8 years in Oil & Gas and 5 years in a Lead HSE Engineer role.
• Practical experience across design, construction, commissioning and maintenance of oil/gas installations.
• Strong knowledge of local and international safety standards and HSE legislation.

Required skills

• HSE management systems implementation and audit.
• ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
• NEBOSH, ICertOSH or equivalent safety certifications.
• Risk management planning and statistical data analysis.
