Merchandiser – Retail Product Management

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Merchandiser to work closely with the Assistant Buyer or Buyer, ensuring that the product range of the assigned brand aligns with the sales plan. You will act as the bridge between the buying team and store operations, driving optimal product placement and inventory management.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse past sales data and trends to forecast future product needs.
• Communicate the merchandise plan to the buying team for product selection, pricing, and supplier decisions.
• Schedule store visits, discuss promotions, new products, and price changes with the buyer.
• Maintain strong relationships with store managers and staff, addressing queries and special requests.
• Ensure store shelves display products correctly, remove damaged items, and keep displays tidy.
• Restock shelves, monitor inventory levels, and prompt re‑ordering when needed.
• Complete call reports, noting competitor pricing and displays.
• Track special promotions, gather customer feedback, and report observations to management.
• Provide market intelligence on supermarket growth or closures in the territory.
• Uphold quality standards and continuously update product knowledge.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• 0‑3 years of experience in retail or a related field.
• Fluent in spoken Arabic and English.
• Strong commercial awareness and communication abilities.
