RPA Avionics Technician I – Deployment Pool

About the role

The employee will join a Deployment Pool supporting RPA (Remotely Piloted Aircraft) avionics maintenance across CONUS and OCONUS locations. The role requires flexibility to meet varied deployment schedules and the ability to perform organizational and intermediate level electronic maintenance on RPA systems and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Apply basic technical knowledge to solve complex problems affecting operational and maintenance capabilities.
• Exercise independent judgment while following direction from senior avionic staff.
• Use common and complex test instruments to diagnose and repair electronic equipment.
• Maintain, repair, and install various types of avionics and electronic devices.
• Interpret technical orders, manufacturers’ manuals, and wiring diagrams to restore equipment functionality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent military/vocational training.
• At least one year of aircraft avionics or ground control station maintenance experience.
• Eligibility to obtain an IAT Level II certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC) within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to deploy internationally, meet OCONUS medical screening, lift 50 lb equipment, and hold an active Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship, valid passport, driver’s license, and full COVID‑19 vaccination with booster.

Required skills

• CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, Security+ CE, SSCP, or GSEC certification.
• Proficiency with electronic test instruments and ground support equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical publications.
• Knowledge of basic and complex electronics maintenance, including RFF systems and components.
• Fundamental understanding of aircraft electrical principles and electronic flight controls.
