Senior Risk Manager

About the role

Tabby is launching its fintech platform in Kuwait and needs a hands‑on Senior Risk Manager to build and lead the local risk function. You will be one of the first hires, responsible for establishing enterprise and credit risk governance, policies, and reporting while supporting the rapid growth of the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain a risk management framework for Kuwait that covers enterprise and credit risk, aligned with Group standards and local regulations.
• Develop the local risk strategy, risk appetite statement, policies, limits, governance forums, and management reporting for launch and ongoing operations.
• Own the enterprise risk process, including risk identification, assessment, risk register, key risk indicators, emerging‑risk reviews, and remediation tracking.
• Provide independent risk challenges on new products, partnerships, customer journeys, and operating models.
• Lead credit risk oversight across the customer lifecycle – underwriting, eligibility rules, credit limits, affordability, collections, and portfolio quality.
• Partner with Group Risk and Product teams to calibrate credit strategies and assess model, policy, and limit changes.
• Establish early‑warning indicators, thresholds, and reporting to enable timely, data‑informed decisions.
• Prepare risk assessments, reports, and recommendations for local leadership, risk committees, the Board, and regulators.
• Support licensing activities, regulatory submissions, examinations, and information requests in collaboration with Compliance, Legal, and other functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in enterprise and credit risk management, preferably within fintech or financial services.
• Demonstrated ability to build risk frameworks, policies, and governance structures from the ground up.
• Strong understanding of local regulatory expectations for risk and credit activities.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to interact with senior leadership, risk committees, and regulators.
