Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will oversee the full spectrum of accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial recording, timely reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls. The role supports month‑end and year‑end closing activities and provides financial analysis to aid management decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate accounting entries, supplier invoices, customer transactions, payment vouchers and supporting documents.
• Supervise recording of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, accruals, pre‑payments, fixed assets and adjustments.
• Lead monthly bank, supplier, customer, inter‑company, POS, sales and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinate month‑end and year‑end closing, including ledger reviews, provisions, accruals and financial reporting.
• Prepare, review and analyse financial statements, management reports and variance explanations.
• Monitor cash flow, receivables ageing, payable obligations and working‑capital priorities.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records, depreciation schedules and related reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to queries.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and statutory requirements.
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements or automation initiatives.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting, reconciliations and month‑end closing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent preferred.
• Strong command of English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Prior experience in the Food & Beverage industry is desirable.
