Assistant Resident Engineer – Port Project

About the role

Egis is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support the delivery of a major port development in Kuwait. Reporting to the Resident Engineer, you will help oversee construction activities, ensure compliance with schedules, budgets and quality standards, and act as a liaison with local authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in day‑to‑day project management and construction supervision.
• Conduct regular site inspections, monitor progress and report deviations.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support quality control and assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Track project risks, propose mitigation measures and contribute to decision‑making meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably on port or marine construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of project and construction management principles.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and relocate to Kuwait for the project duration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Project and Excel.
