Bid Manager – Construction & Engineering Projects

About the role

The Bid Manager will oversee the full bid lifecycle for construction and engineering projects, from RFP analysis through award and handover, ensuring a robust, auditable process that delivers competitive and financially sound proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Convene round‑table meetings with stakeholders to define a criteria‑driven bid approach.
• Develop and review opportunity storyboards, ensuring visual clarity and financial robustness.
• Lead and manage the bid team’s performance, conduct and development.
• Coordinate handover of proposals to operations, supporting project kick‑off.
• Address post‑submission queries quickly, collaborating with departmental representatives.
• Prepare financial strategies and proposals, including new pricing mechanisms.
• Work with marketing and graphic design to produce branded, attractive documentation.
• Analyse client profiles, competitive advantage and market rates to shape bid strategy.
• Review RFPs, assess risks and workload, and advise directors on go/no‑go decisions.
• Source and validate labour rates and man‑month quotations from Centres of Excellence.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of senior bid management experience in architecture, engineering or construction.
• Proven experience in consultancy environments, preferably with recent Middle East projects.
• Graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and make go/no‑go decisions based on financial and reputational criteria.
