Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead the preparation and consolidation of URC’s financial statements across all subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local tax regulations. This senior position requires close collaboration with internal teams and external auditors to deliver accurate monthly reporting and tax filings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage monthly closing processes for URC and its subsidiaries.
• Coordinate tax declarations for Kuwait and other jurisdictions, ensuring accurate DMTT calculations.
• Oversee intercompany transactions and apply transfer pricing policies.
• Liaise with external tax auditors to obtain final approvals.
• Gather and validate financial data from subsidiaries for reporting and tax purposes.
• Support the development and improvement of accounting procedures and manuals.
• Participate in cross‑functional teams and communicate financial information to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 6‑8 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in consolidations and tax compliance.
• Significant experience in the real‑estate sector.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS reporting standards.
• Expertise in corporate tax regulations and DMTT calculations.
• Understanding of transfer pricing and country‑by‑country reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in preparing consolidated financial statements and monthly reports.
