Civil Design Engineer – Metro Rail Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join a leading Korean engineering and construction firm working on metro rail and tunnel projects in Vietnam. The role involves managing design activities, coordinating with consultants and clients, and ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality design documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify employer needs and expectations, summarise design management reviews and report to the Project Manager.
• Plan and oversee all design work, manage design sub‑contractors and control the design dossier.
• Monitor design programme progress and ensure deliverables meet contractual requirements.
• Resolve design issues with engineers, consultants and the employer promptly.
• Review design reports and drawings, flag deficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Prepare and review monthly and cost reports, highlighting financial variances.
• Participate in design, interface and coordination meetings with all project stakeholders.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (essential) or a Master’s degree.
• 5–10 years of experience in civil design for metro rail or tunnel projects.
• Minimum 45 years of age.
• Proven experience as a design coordinator or team leader.
• Excellent English communication skills.
