Commis II Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis II supports the culinary team by preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. This full‑time, on‑site position is based at Marriott International in Kuwait City and follows the brand’s high standards of hospitality and food quality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, mix, and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers, and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Test and monitor food for proper cooking and quality throughout preparation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and ensure proper storage.
• Wash, disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives, and equipment; verify appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow all company safety, security, and hygiene policies; report incidents and maintenance needs.
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect confidential information, and support teamwork.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related food‑service or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions.

Required skills
