Costing Clerk

About the role

The Costing Clerk is responsible for accurate job costing, invoicing, cash collection and daily cash reconciliation. The role ensures financial records are maintained in line with company policies and supports smooth cash flow operations.

Key responsibilities

• Cost jobs in progress, close job cards on completion, apply pricing and discount rules, raise invoices and collect cash.
• Operate the cash register, deposit daily cash to treasury, bank or authorized agents and obtain acknowledgment on fund transfer forms.
• Verify disbursements against supporting documents and ensure compliance with company policy.
• Record all receipts and payments promptly, file supporting documents (invoices, job cards, receipts) in an orderly manner.
• Sort, count and wrap coins and currency; reconcile cash on hand with the cash register daily.
• Maintain sufficient cash in the drawer and prepare month‑end cash reconciliation schedules.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Commerce graduate with at least 1 year of experience in cash handling and disbursements.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting entry recording.
• Ability to prepare reconciliations and month‑end schedules.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
