Director of Banquet

About the role

Four Seasons Kuwait City is seeking a seasoned leader to head its Banquet Department. Reporting to senior food & beverage leadership, the Director of Banquet will oversee all aspects of banquet operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences in a luxury resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach and discipline banquet staff, supervisors and assistant managers.
• Develop and execute long‑range strategic plans for banquet operations.
• Maintain a visible presence on the floor, recognize staff achievements, manage public relations and resolve guest or client complaints.
• Coordinate set‑up requirements for hotel and off‑site functions according to banquet event orders.
• Communicate directly with group contacts, Catering Managers and Conference Services Managers to ensure all function details are executed.
• Ensure quality and timeliness of all food items in an elegantly appointed environment.
• Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef and Director of Catering to design effective menus that balance quality and cost.
• Participate in regular operational meetings to promote coordination across departments.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading banquet teams in a luxury hotel setting.
• Strong ability to train, motivate and discipline staff at all levels.
• Strategic planning capability for banquet operations.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with guests, clients and internal departments.
• Hands‑on operational visibility and problem‑solving aptitude.
• Experience coordinating on‑site and off‑site events according to detailed specifications.
• Ability to work closely with senior food & beverage leaders on menu development.
