Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Basic Level

About the role

The EMT Basic position is based in Kuwait and supports the fire department by responding to fire, medical and related emergency calls. The role involves providing emergency medical care on scene and during transport, as well as educating staff and the public on fire safety and prevention.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain readiness and respond promptly to fire, medical and emergency calls when dispatched.
• Assess patients, obtain medical history, perform physical examinations and deliver emergency care at the scene and en route to the hospital.
• Operate and maintain medical equipment, stretchers, litters and other EMS tools.
• Communicate patient status to paramedics and the Medical Officer and coordinate with the fire department.
• Educate staff and the public on fire safety and prevention measures.

Required profile

• Nationally registered EMT‑Basic with CPR/BLS and First Aid certifications.
• Minimum two years experience in an emergency health‑care setting and on an ambulance.
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking English.
• Physical ability to lift at least 100 lb and perform heavy‑work tasks.

Required skills

• EMT‑Basic certification and emergency medical procedures.
• CPR/BLS and First Aid proficiency.
• Operation of medical equipment and EMS inventory systems.
• Basic computer, copier and scanning skills.
