Engineering Shift Leader – Guest Room Maintenance

About the role

The Engineering Shift Leader is responsible for maintaining the appearance and functionality of guest rooms, meeting rooms and public areas at a Marriott Executive Apartments property in Kuwait City. The role focuses on scheduled preventative maintenance, minor repairs and ensuring all equipment and furnishings meet brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks such as mattress flipping, deep‑cleaning carpets, touch‑up painting, dusting, bathroom cleaning and light‑fixture replacement.
• Inspect and repair guest‑room and public‑area elements, including grout, caulking, loose toilet seats, light bulbs and minor wall damage.
• Report serious maintenance issues, safety hazards or unusual findings to the supervisor immediately.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, complete required training and maintain a professional appearance.
• Provide courteous service to guests, anticipate their needs and uphold quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Less than one year of related maintenance or housekeeping experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and moving equipment.
