Engineering Technician III – DC/Low Frequency

About the role

The Engineering Technician III provides training, technical advice, and hands‑on support for the repair, calibration, and modification of a wide range of precision measurement equipment used in DC/Low‑Frequency applications.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑the‑job and classroom training to KAF and GOK personnel on metrology procedures.
• Perform precision measurements, calibrations, modifications, maintenance and repairs on equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ammeters, watt meters, signal generators, bridges and automated test equipment.
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining laboratory QA accreditation.
• Provide technical guidance for laboratory operations and resolve customer measurement problems.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in electronics technology with 10 years of experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating electronic precision measurement equipment, **or** completion of a U.S. military precision measurement program with 12 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of basic electricity, electronics, circuit theory, digital logic, algebra and physics.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot TMDE at the component level and perform delicate soldering and wiring on circuit cards.

Required skills

• Calibration and repair of analog and digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function and signal generators.
• Use of resistance, capacitance, inductance bridges and automated test equipment.
• Soldering, wiring and electronic construction on delicate circuit cards.
• Measurement of voltage, current, power, resistance, capacitance, inductance, time and frequency (≤ 500 MHz).
