Field Service Technician

About the role

Leidos Defense Sector is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics and engineering support for US Army Central G2 at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. The role ensures secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of Army Military Intelligence Enterprise IT systems and supports a Microsoft Enterprise software environment across multiple networks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Tier I and II customer service support via in‑person, telephone, or ticket system and escalate incidents when needed.
• Perform hardware and infrastructure tasks such as cable management, workstation installations, UPS checks, hardware replacements, and basic printer maintenance.
• Remediate issues on Windows desktops, laptops, printers, digital senders, video‑teleconference systems and VOIP devices.
• Execute basic Active Directory tasks and manage NTFS permissions, share folder access, etc.
• Troubleshoot software problems with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe, Java, PKIs and apply patches/updates locally or remotely using PowerShell and RDP.
• Document all work in the Remedy incident database, ensuring accurate and timely ticket closure.
• Support user onboarding/off‑boarding, create accounts, configure workstations, map drives and printers.
• Schedule and de‑conflict video teleconferences, conduct site surveys and install IT equipment.
• Participate in or lead special projects, surge to alternate locations, and backfill personnel as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years relevant experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree).
• Active TS/SCI security clearance (in DISS).
• Active 8570 IAT II (or higher) baseline certification such as Security+.
• Active Windows Computing Environment certification (e.g., MS‑900, MD‑102) or ability to obtain post‑hire.
• Proven experience resolving Tier I/II hardware, software and application issues.
