Field Test Engineer – Mechanical/Electrical

About the role

GE Gas Power Engineering division is looking for a Field Test Engineer to support regional customer field tests across the Middle East. The role involves installing instrumentation, collecting test data, and conducting material analysis in line with lab protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Execute regional field tests and laboratory support, including instrumentation placement, cable routing, and data acquisition.
• Develop and maintain traceable documentation, calibrate equipment, and ensure compliance with ISO procedures.
• Design and construct lab test facilities, test rigs, and instrumentation systems, and operate relevant test software.
• Report test results and daily activities to stakeholders and adhere to EHS safety guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electro‑mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Material, Instrumentation, Aerospace or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in field and/or laboratory testing with instrumentation.
• Willingness to travel up to 50 % of the time to customer sites in the GCC and globally.
• Legal right to work in the GCC without sponsorship and fluency in English.

Required skills

• Instrumentation and data acquisition equipment operation.
• Test software proficiency (LabVIEW) and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
• MS Office proficiency.
• Calibration and ISO procedural knowledge.
